About

Two ex-McAfee architects.
One platform that finally fixes what it finds.

Cyber Army is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. Founded by Satish Shetty and Dan Melchione - both founding engineers on McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, the platform that protected Fortune 500 endpoints for nearly two decades. We build agentic security for teams that can't afford to wait on a backlog.

Mission

Detection without a fix is just expensive noise.

Security teams are overwhelmed with alerts they cannot act on. We close that gap with autonomous remediation that proves fixes work before touching production, AI penetration testing at a price any team can afford, and human experts for cases that need creative thinking.

Cyber Army does not want to compete with other cybersecurity platforms. We want to complement them, close the loop they leave open, and together make the world a safer place.

Leadership

SS

Satish Shetty

CEO

McAfee · Microsoft · Codeproof (CEO)

Satish has spent more than 30 years building cybersecurity and enterprise software. He began his career at McAfee on the VirusScan anti-malware tools, drawn in by a fascination with how malware worked, and worked 36 hours straight helping cure the Melissa virus during the 1999 outbreak. He went on to become a founding developer of ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), the console that became the standard for enterprise security management worldwide. At Microsoft, he contributed to the Windows Genuine Advantage anti-piracy program across Windows XP SP2, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

In 2011, Satish founded Codeproof on a bet the industry said couldn't work: bringing cloud-first mobile device management for Apple and Android devices to small and medium businesses. While the big vendors chased enterprise contracts, he served SMBs across North America personally: onboarding customers and enrolling their devices over Zoom calls, taking the support calls, answering the emails. Bootstrapped and profitable, Codeproof today secures more than 250,000 devices worldwide. Satish is a named inventor on 15+ U.S. patents in endpoint protection, cloud security, and enterprise management, and a member of the Forbes Technology Council.

At Cyber Army, Satish excels at productizing technology: turning complex security challenges into products that are simple to use. The same customer obsession that built Codeproof for SMBs now serves Fortune 500 enterprises. Quick to embrace each new platform shift, he is using agentic AI to reimagine how security teams operate and defend against evolving threats. Working closely with CISO design partners, he translates the real-world needs of security teams into products that deliver measurable security and business outcomes.

DM

Dan Melchione

CTO

McAfee · Multivec · Phab

Dan has spent 30 years building software, most of it in security. He joined McAfee in 1996, in the era when viruses were exploding and companies suddenly had thousands of computers to protect with no way to manage them all. His answer was ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO): one console where an IT team could see every machine in the company, push security policy to all of them at once, and respond to outbreaks in minutes instead of days. Dan was the original creator of ePO and the architect of McAfee's antivirus division, shaping the products that protected millions of machines worldwide. ePO became the industry standard for enterprise security management and is still in use today, nearly 30 years later. Along the way he shipped one of the industry's first security products delivered as a cloud service. His McAfee work produced 15 patents.

Since then he has been a hands-on CTO at four companies, building systems where failure isn't an option: a managed security platform that kept businesses' machines protected and up to date over the internet, an emergency conferencing system that let an organization pull everyone onto a live call at the push of a button, and a platform that let one team ship the same product across cloud, web, desktop, and mobile. Most recently he has been deep in AI, building a development platform powered by large language models and training and dissecting those models himself to understand how they actually work, not just how to call an API.

At Cyber Army, Dan goes deep on the technology as CTO: he architects the AutoFix remediation engine and the AI that powers it. He is doing for security remediation what ePO did for security management: working with the tools companies already own, no rip and replace, and closing the loop that every other product leaves open.
